In Rajasthan animal husbandry is a major economic activity of the rural people, especially in the arid and semi-arid regions of Rajasthan. In spite of increase in number of milch animals and total milk production over the years, productivity of milch animals is not very encouraging in the state. To enhance the production potential of milch animals the only way is to ensure make availability of developed technologies and improved dairy farming skills of dairy farmers.
To improve the existing animal management practices of dairy farmers in small holding and medium holdings, National Dairy Development Board Dairy Services (NDS) provided technical assistance for stablished 15 model dairy farms in Jaipur, Sikar, Ajmer, Tonk and Bhilwara districts of Rajasthan.
